Thomas is the CMAC Senior Technical Operations & Tier 2 Manager and is responsible for Health, Safety & Wellbeing, a team of Instrument Scientists and Research Technicians within the CMAC National Facility and laboratory and equipment infrastructure within the Technology Innovation Centre.

Thomas completed a Masters degree in chemistry at the University of Glasgow and a PhD at the same institution under the supervision of Professor Lee Cronin. He first joined CMAC in 2011 as a KTA researcher working with numerous external companies on continuous crystallisation. He then worked in numerous postdoctoral roles before taking up his position as Technical Operations Manager in 2015.
