Yusuf is a PhD researcher at CMAC, his work focuses on evaluation of process topologies with recycle streams aimed at recovering API from crystallization mother liquors. The research aims to use a predictive approach by using gPROMS and Aspen to model process topologies and assess their impact on product yield, specifications, and solvent waste. His research is funded by AstraZeneca.

Before joining CMAC, Yusuf obtained his MSc (2022) in Advanced Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, and ranked first across all departments. He also has valuable industrial experience, having previously served as a Process Engineer in India.
