PhD Researcher

University of Strathclyde

Parandeep is a PhD researcher at CMAC, where he focuses on using advanced Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) to better understand and characterise particle behaviour in crystallisation. His work involves analysing in-line experimental data and developing Machine Learning and Deep Learning models to identify key particle shape, size and habit. He primarily focuses on data-driven techniques for classifying crystallisation outcomes and measuring solubility and kinetic parameters, with the goal of improving real-time monitoring and control of crystallisation processes.

Originally from a chemical engineering background, Parandeep completed his BEng at the University of Aberdeen in 2021 before earning an MSc in Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing with distinction. He joined CMAC in October 2022. His research sits at the intersection of chemical engineering and data science, aiming to make pharmaceutical manufacturing more efficient and data-driven. He has also completed a 6-month internship at UCB, where he has applied his methods in an industrial setting.
