Chris’ main research area is in deep learning image analysis (especially segmentation for particle characterisation). Chris is currently working in the Crystallisation Screening DataFactory (CSDF) automating solubility and kinetic parameter estimation and building systems to efficiently automate experiments. Chris is also involved in the CERSI for Digital Transformation of Medicines Development and Manufacture. The CERSI team are developing a workflow for evaluating credibility of machine learning models in a regulatory context.

Previously, Chris worked on the CMAC Core Project on Multi-dimensional Particle Characterisation from in-situ sensors (MDPC). In this project he evaluated deep learning techniques for particle characterisation and compared against prior state of the art techniques and canonical measurements.
