Time to go digital: digitalisation and AI in pharmaceutical R&D

February 28th 2023

Prof. Blair Johnston from CMAC’s Digital Medicines Manufacturing research center (DM² ) co-hosted a webinar as part of a series run by the centre partner, Malvern Panalytical.

In this webinar, Blair discussed the benefits to be gained from digitalisation and the adoption of industrial digital technologies from a pharmaceutical perspective. He also provided insights into the challenges of “going digital” with some examples of useful solutions and how we are implementing them across the DM² centre. These included key technologies at the core of DM² activities, such as AI, digital twins and knowledge engineering, as well as some practical solutions for bringing all staff within an organization along on the digital transformation journey.
