Irene Moreno Flores

PhD Researcher

University of Strathclyde

Irene is a PhD researcher at CMAC working on the modelling of antisolvent crystallisation processes, focusing specifically on understanding the effect of mixing on crystallisation performance. The research aims to use a more adequate theoretical framework to inform computer simulations of the diffusive mixing phenomenon. including the prediction and ultimately avoidance of unwanted events such as oiling out and the formation of unexpected crystal forms.

Irene joined CMAC in October 2021 and she is based in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, at the University of Strathclyde, where in 2021 she completed her MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering and acquired a background in Deep Learning models for particle size characterisation. She previously finished her BEng in Chemical Engineering at the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2020.
