Ian has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from The University of Oxford with Prof John Brown. He spent 10 years in contract manufacturing and scale-up of APIs for Zeneca, Avecia and the Piramal Healthcare before moving to Britest Ltd as an Innovation Specialist working on pre-competitive methodologies for multi-disciplinary team scale-up and manufacturing in pharma and fine chemicals. After a short spell as a materials scientist in medical devices, Ian joined CMAC in 2011 facilitating the interactions between the 8 Tier 1 large pharma companies and the academics involved in CMAC including running pre-competitive and confidential research projects to maximise industrial impact of CMAC’s research.
