Jason Robertson

PhD Researcher

University of Strathclyde

Jason is a PhD researcher using an ontological approach to develop software to collect data from crystallisation experiments, whether they achieve the desired result or not, to deliver a searchable database of factorial experiments for crystallisations.   Researchers should be able to use the software to prevent the repeat of experiments that do not deliver the required end product.  With a large enough dataset, searches may be able to provide optimisations to existing processes and it might be possible to use machine learning to suggest novel crystallisation techniques.

Jason joined CMAC in 2023 after graduating in 2022 with an MSc in Astrophysics.  He has 25 years of industrial experience in software architecture, design, development and deployment in a variety of settings including seven years of IT project management experience.
