Mitchelle Mandaza

PhD Researcher

University of Strathclyde

Mitchelle joined CMAC in June 2020 to pursue a PhD in crystallisation and her current research interests are aligned to experimental and modelling studies of primary processes using machine learning and CFD. Mitchelle’s project focuses on Digital Design Strategies for Industrial Crystallisation Development: Considering Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Properties and Crystalliser Hydrodynamics for Process Scale-up.

Mitchelle obtained her BSc in Biochemistry and Pharmacology at the University of Strathclyde in 2018. During this time she developed a deep interest in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and the development of better medicines. She subsequently enrolled on the MSc in Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing where she carried out a project with Novartis in CMAC and graduated in 2019. Following this, she took up a position as a QC Analyst at Lonza.
