Aaron Bjarnson

PhD Researcher

University of Strathclyde

Aaron is a PhD researcher at CMAC working to develop an autonomous continuous flow platform. The platform will help to simplify crystallisation process development by reducing experimental labour, increasing data efficiency and improving experimental replicability.

After obtaining an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Aberdeen University in 2020, Aaron completed a research project in collaboration with the University of Aberdeen and Strathclyde University. This involved characterisation of a novel plug flow crystalliser designed to alleviate the impact of heavy fouling. He also worked for a leading global CDMO, developing crystallisation processes for new drug products.
