Summer School on Crystal Nucleaton

Organized on behalf of the EFCE Working Party for Crystallization

June 20th to 24th, 2016

The goal of this summer school is to outline theory, measurement methods and simulation techniques necessary to understand, describe and manipulate crystal nucleation processes.

The course will be divided into five themes, with lectures held by experts in the field:

Non-classical Nucleation and Nucleation thermodynamics
Prof. Peter Vekilov, University of Houston

Classical Nucleation, Measurements and Simulations
Prof. Joop ter Horst, University of Strathclyde

Molecular Interpretation of Nucleation Behaviour
Prof. Roger Davey, University of Manchester

Secondary Nucleation & shear and laser induced nucleation
Prof. Jan Sefcik, University of Strathclyde

Pre-nucleation Clusters, Mesocrystals and Biomimetics
Dr. Denis Gebauer, University of Konstanz



Participants from academia, industry and alike are invited to join. The registration fee depends on the status of the participant as well as the time of registration.
The fee covers daily lunches and the summer school dinner; accommodation is not included.

The early registration deadline is March 31, while the general deadline is May 31.

Conference venue

The summer school will be held on the campus of the University of Strathclyde, in the centre of Glasgow (UK).
